The refurbishment and modernisation of the KFC Restaurant on a busy high profile site in central Upper Hutt is the second project ADC has carried out for Restaurant Brands as part of their KFC “National Transformation Project”.
The refurbishment included gutting the building, ripping up all the old flooring, grinding the floor back to the correct level, altering the front of the dining area and re-cladding the exterior. Inside the restaurant was treated to a completely new, bright and modern fit-out with feature tiling.
During the project unexpected issues were discovered with the roof and the external drains. Despite a very short five week programme, these issues were remedied with no changes to the original timeline.
Special Info / Challenges:
The project was carried out in a very short time frame of just five weeks. This was achieved in two stages to minimise disruption to the business. By working closely with the KFC team and careful planning, we were able to re-open the Drive Thru area two weeks into the build. This proved very popular for KFC’s customers with around 120 cars a day getting their KFC meals from the drive thru while refurbishment continued.
