The Data Centres provide critically important services to the NZ Government and to large corporate customers. As such they are built to very stringent seismic specifications to ensure business continuity in earthquake events.
ADC completed all interior fit-outs including electrical, office facilities, kitchen and toilet areas. We worked closely with the Revera team carrying out the technical installation and integration.
When ADC delivered Stages 1 and 2 of the ART (Alexander Rd, Trentham) Centre the company was applauded for turning a greenfield site into a fully functioning data centre within six months, setting a new construction standard for the industry.

Revera has been substantially reengineered and expanded to its position today as the leading New Zealand-owned provider of computing infrastructure and platform services.
This project involved the construction of Revera’s fifth Modular Datacentre to be built in Trentham, Upper Hutt. The 1000m2, 10m high Warehouse is constructed of precast panels, with an office area at the front of the building.
The large-scale storage system consists of a modular design with computer flooring throughout the building. A racking system with 100 racks per section was included.
This high tech specialised greenfield project has set new standards in the construction of specialised IT facilities. It was the first of its kind to be built in New Zealand and the construction programme of only six months included significant security, fire protection, technical and seismic specifications.
Stage 3 Building No 2 of Revera’s ART Centre follows on from the very successful completion of Stages 1 and 2 by Armstrong Downes in 2012 and 2013.
The new Stage 3 is a twin of the previous stages – a Tier 3 Data Centre with a 1260m2 floor plate housing leading edge technology and 310m2 of supporting office facilities.
The new building uses pre cast concrete wall panels and has a concrete floor. A series of five, 30m, full span steel trusses are being used to provide a suspended strengthened ceiling. Kingspan roofing is being used in this ceiling to provide additional fire protection and to enable the ceiling to be also used as flooring for the roof space. This ceiling space will house additional plant and means the floor space below is completely flexible, with no structural columns. Similar ground work is also required to accommodate the additional back-up generators for power protection.

In just a few short months the ADC team have been mobilised and construction will commence this month when the Building Consent is approved.”
