Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club Development
In park-like surrounds, Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club has undergone a major redevelopment. Situated on the fringe of a residential area on Military Road, Lower Hutt, the 1,200 member Golf Club’s plan required the current greenkeeper's facilities and members’ car park to be replaced and situated on a new site on the property – making room for the new clubhouse at a later stage.
The Golf Club contracted Armstrong Downes Commercial to construct the first stages of this development. Over five months it included significant earthworks, development of club access and car parking, shed construction and final internal fitout.
The two lane entrance from the end of Military Road into the car park, provides 170 parking spaces, finished with asphalt, and landscaped planting.
The new 600m2 maintenance shed has a large concrete floor, is surrounded by asphalt, and is designed to store all grounds equipment safely indoors. Mowers, tractors, a wash bay, and a compound for mixing chemicals will all be housed within this purpose designed building.
Throughout the project, this very busy golf course has continued to operate unimpeded. The extent of the earthworks has meant that 7,000m3 of river-run gravel has been brought to the site using the same access ways as the club members. The management and logistics of this has required careful planning to ensure that disruption has been kept to a minimum.
This large amount of construction traffic is also being meticulously managed to ensure the health and safety of all parties on site, as the trucks make their way through the fully operational golf course.
